Analytical Psychology

Analytical psychology(also called Jungian Psychology) refers to the theory of psychoanalysis developed by Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung. It focuses on the concept of the collective unconscious and the importance of balancing opposing forces within the personality. Though it is quite distinct from Freudian psychoanalysis it also has a number of similarities with the Freudian concept of unconscious mind.

The term "analytical psychology" was first used is in a lecture delivered by Jung to the Psycho-Medical Society in London on August 5, 1913 ("General Aspects of Psychoanalysis").

Analytical psychology distinguishes several psychological types or temperaments.

eg:- Extravert (Jung spelled it as extravert not "extrovert")
        Introvert

According to Jung, the conscious psyche is an apparatus for adaptation and orientation, and consists of a number of different psychic functions. Among these he distinguishes four basic functions:

  1. Sensing - perception by means of the sense organs;
  2. Intuition - perceiving in unconscious way or perception of unconscious contents.
  3. Thinking - function of intellectual cognition; the forming of logical conclusions;
  4. Feeling - function of subjective estimation;

Looming shadow of a prominent recession

Its out of my imagination of a go down of our market in tandem with the global market cues. But I think, instead of looking anxiously into the sky, let's prepare for it; whether it touches us or disappear for an another instance in the unknown future.

I devoted, these days to read through all those newspaper journals and articles to get the taste of this so called recession.

What does recession mean?

It is the down ward movement of the Business Cycle and it must go till trough once started dipping down. Recession is indicated through a negative figure of GDP in a consecutive 2-3 Quarters. Its duration may last to a few more months with an industry wide impact on all economic activities.

Stock market drops, Inverted Yields curve, continuous unemployment rates for more that a quarter and the leading national indices can be used to measure the symptoms of recession.

Hope our nation will remain insulated as mentioned by our Finance Minister against the global market troubles and the god will give us the strength the move our economic progress to flourish all our dreams.

Psychometric Tests

Psychometric Tests
A quite distinctive field of study which is concerned with the measurement of knowledge, ability, attitude and personal trait of an individual by using psychological theory and techniques. The inputs from Psychological testing (Psychometric Tests) are used for Psychological Assessment. Psychometric Tests are considered as the science of Psychological Assessment. We use Questionnaires and Tests for conduction Psychometric Tests. The term 'psychometric' comes from two Greek words; literally which means, measurement of the mind.

The Concept
As generally considered the success of a Psychometric Test will be based on its Reliability, Validity, and Standard etc.

The core principles of Psychometric Tests are-
Reliability: It is the consistency of a set of measurements or measuring instruments.
Validity: It is the degree to which a test measures what it was designed to measure. And ,
Standardization: It is the scope of comparability, so that an individual can be compared with the standards of group or with the entire population.

Why Psychometric tests?
Do you think, without a proper reason companies will be spending time and wasting money for conducting these tests? It is generally believed that around 70% of the candidate rejections are happening because of the attitude and aptitude of the candidate and not because of the core competency for performing the job.

This is after all a very competitive business world and they want to make sure that each employee they hire should fit into the best interest of the organization. At the end of the day, he should not be a non-performing asset. Psychometric tests help to bring clarity, equality and fairness in the selection process.

Psychometric Tests helps the decision makers aware about your personality type and many times they can put you to a suitable team or more often to a right job too. Test result can also be used for effective candidate analysis.
